Happy Canada Day

Today has been Canada's birthday and so there have been many outbursts of love poured forth on the internet to celebrate the neighbor north of us.  I have been in Canada only on a few rare occasions. When I lived in Michigan, we would go through Port Huron to cross into Canada where life is truly different from the USA which one notices immediately.  For one thing, Canada is always much cleaner and fresher than the USA but also more expensive when one has to make purchases. The rate of exchange is such that Canadians pay more than Americans do and it is a shock to Americans that simple things like fast food stores are so much higher in cost than in America.  One other thing that one notices immediately is that the Canadians who we would meet are always so warm and friendly. They are actually hospitable and can always tell that one is an American.  I do not know how or why but it is probably the same way that we notice that the lawns and streets are so much cleaner and neater than American lawns and streets.

So Happy Birthday to Canada today.  Many very nice people live there who visit America frequently.
