Zenyatta and Rachel Alexander are two fillies who both had remarkable career records this year. At this moment, Zenyatta has either won or lost the 18th race into which she is entered. She is racing at Del Mar. I will continue this post after I learn the results. I doubt that she was beaten but one never can be too sure. I did attempt to see the race but when I learned that it was to go off at six o'clock in the evening I returned home. This will have a continuation as I must learn now whether she did or did not win...Betting that she did!
It took me an hour but I did learn that she won by a neck. Whew! I had not wanted her to lose. I finally found it at MSNBC as I kept looking but had trouble getting the story. It would break my heart for her to lose.
I fought hard to get a button with her picture on it at the track one weekend. I have also liked Rachel Alexander who has been just as superb a horse to watch. Zenyatta is a super horse, and has been quite unnecessarily discredited by many disgruntled horse fans who cannot ever give in to the simple fact that some horses do achieve greatness. Zenyatta is that rare breed of horse who gives all her fans a thrill in racing.
I wonder what is next for her?
